There are three levels of participation on the worship team and each have their own unique characteristics:
Worship leader:
- strong vocalist
- desire to lead the congregation in worship
- can sing lead and harmony
- ability to move and clap in rhythm
- comfortable speaking to the congregation
- strong leadership ability
- ability to coordinate, plan, and lead their own team
Worship Vocalist:
- strong vocalist
- can sing harmonies
- could be chosen to lead sing sections of songs
- ensemble singing
- ability to move and clap in rhythm
Worshipper:
- strong melody singer
- ability to encourage congregational worship
- ability to move and clap in rhythm
These positions and characteristics may change as the needs of the worship ministry evolve.
Vocal Auditions
Each person is asked to perform the same elements. We will assign you a particular position based on your ability.
The following is what our auditions look like.
I. Vocal Audition
- Vocalizing Exercise- to hear range, tonal quality, style
- Sing vocal parts to display ability to harmonize and mix.
- Sing assigned selections (2) one fast song and one slow song.
- Stage presence-We’ll be observing confidence, rhythm, engaging the congregation, and overall appearance.
