Have you ever thought about going camping? I’m sure you have, because as Washingtonians, we love our camping! We love to get out into the wilderness, to retreat and get away from the rat race. You might actually be planning to go camping this weekend and that is fantastic.
I hope you have a great time!
As you’re camping this summer, and you’re thinking about the idea of camping with your family, other families, or maybe you’re gonna go out camping alone, I want you to think about Jesus for a second. Jesus would spend massive amounts of time getting away, out into the wilderness, praying. Why would Jesus do that? Because he understood that a connection with God was the most important thing in his entire life. No matter what he did, no matter how busy he got, he would retreat and would go off and pray.
When was the last time you JUST prayed? Where you retreated and took some time away? You may not have the opportunity or the luxury to get out to the forest to go pray, but maybe you can simply go out to your car, and sit for one minute and pray and connect with God. That is my encouragement to you this week. Spend some time in your spiritual wilderness with God, and I hope to see you on Sunday!
