Today we’re talking about Daylight Savings Time…Ugh, Spring forward…AKA, we lose an hour; this is not the good one! I don’t know about you, but I could seriously use five bonus hours in my day, losing an hour completely throws me off.
I always have great intentions with my time. Time to exercise, meal plan, family planning, socialize and maybe get in some devotion and prayer time and bible reading. If I’m honest, the latter of those don’t often make it into my agenda. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first his Kingdom and righteousness, and all of these things will be given to you.” Just as God asks us to not give him our leftovers with tithing, he doesn’t want our leftover time either. When we take time to put God first, all of those other things will come into play. We will have more time. He will bless us with more just as he promises to do with everything else when we put him first.
I challenge you this week to find a way to start your day by putting God first. Whether it’s waking up to pray, writing in a journal, taking time to read, or a devotion. Since you’re probably looking at your phone first thing in the morning anyway, you can download the YouVersion Bible App, which has daily bible verses and multiple reading plans that you can engage with. Let’s have this year’s loss of an hour, end up being your best one yet!
