It’s November, and if you’re from the Pacific Northwest, you’re wearing flannel, sitting inside, watching the rain and leaves fall. I love November because it’s hunting season. It’s also one of my favorite times to be outside because it points me to God. In Psalm 19:1 it says, “The Heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship, day after day, they continue to speak, night after night, they make him known.” I love that, because as I’m outside, whether I’m hiking, camping, fishing, hunting or walking, whatever it is, creation speaks to me about who God is and the blessings in my life.
“Give thanks to God for whatever it is you feel blessed about in this season of your life.”
Here is my simple challenge to you during this holiday season. Take some time, whether you’re sitting inside at Starbucks, or if you’re outside, no matter what you’re doing, acknowledge the beauty of the outdoors and give thanks to God. Give thanks to God for whatever it is you feel blessed about in this season of your life.
This is a great time of year to connect with others and join a group at Gold Creek Community Church. We’ve got a lot of great opportunities: fun GC meetups, like hiking, golfing, wine tasting, and trivia, to name a few. We also have some groups that you may want to check out; some run in conjunction with our Tuesday evening services. Make sure you select the campus you attend and get connected!
