I want to talk to you about March Madness. March Madness is one of my favorite tournaments of the year. It has by far the most intrigue with Cinderella stories, one versus sixteen seeds and teams that no one would pick to go all the way, goes all the way. I love the drama and the madness, which is why they call it, “March Madness!”
Have you ever thought about your own life? How sometimes it seems like it’s madness? Where you think things should go a certain way, but then something comes out of nowhere and knocks you off your perch. Or maybe you think that you have what it takes to get a promotion; you’re the best person, but someone else gets promoted. Maybe your kids aren’t doing as well in school as you would hope. Or maybe your relationship with God just seems to be overwhelming; that life is overwhelming you, and thus you can’t seem to connect with him in a way you know you should be connecting.
God has a response for you. He says things like, “Be still.” What that means is, “Stop moving.” He says things like, “If you’re tired, come to me because I will help you; I will give you rest.” In the moments when you feel like your life is just madness, and your bracket is gonna bust and you’re not sure you’re gonna make it to the end, God says he is with you. He will go with you, and he will never leave you. In moments like this, we need to do something almost unnatural. Just stop, just breath, and allow God to fill you, and remember that he is with you everyday.
