I have always known Palm Sunday to be a day of celebration. It’s a day we talk about Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem and how so much of the crowd was praising him, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” Yet, in a week’s time, we see many of the same crowd chanting to have Jesus crucified.
Which part of the crowd would you have been in? It’s so easy for us, not having been in that situation, to condemn those that were against him and to claim our righteous choice. But, haven’t we been in that situation? I know I have. We are all sinners. I can look back at my life and see many of my choices were a rebellion against God. And that’s the message of Easter, that God sent Jesus so we can be forgiven for our choices; for the sins we have.
Our God is a God of love, mercy and grace, and like Palm Sunday, is one to be celebrated!
We hope you’ll join us for our Palm Sunday services on April 14th!
